I Can't Fight This Feeling Anymore

Music of Choice:
Tool - Opiate

I have not updated in a while for the following reasons:
1 - allergic reaction to codeine
2 - dying of sinus infection
3 - new laptop, it's a tiny god, but no damn internet yet.

So I bought a new laptop and it is literally a tiny god. 2.0 screamin' Gigs of fury, 1.25 Gigs of ram, DVD +/- CDRW, ATI 128 meg Radeon video card, wireless internet/LAN with Bluetooth, and an 80 gig drive to store mp3's/porn. But no goddamn internet. I cannot get my wireless to connect with our router. Me not happy. In other non-happy news, I have been sick for 2 weeks. I have not breathed out of my nose for quite some time, and I am seriously dehydrated. Life, as I know it, sucks.

Now for the good news. There is a girl I have had in my sights for quite some time. She has dark red hair, cute black glasses, and an amazing body. NaturallyI figured she was out of my league. Well, I finally got tired of my friends bitching at me (Thanks Tim and Sean) and asked her out. And holy shit, she actually said yes! Now I have NO fucking idea what to do. I guess we are going out to dinner, but I suck at those kind of situations, so I am at a loss as to what to talk about. The only thing I know about her is she loves Pink Floyd, which would help explain the attraction. Other than that, I am like a helpless puppy. Oh well, guess that is what makes it so fun.

Anyways, once I get my wireless working I will be updating a lot more from my own computer. Talk to you soon, I am going to go drink a ton of water and feel like shit and try and drain a gallon of snot out of my system. Thought you might like that image to soak in your mind.

A Box Full Of Sharp Objects

Music of Choice:
Jim Croce - Which Way Are You Going?

Hello again. Welcome. Sorry, been a long week. I would like to start by thanking Tim Dickinson for not verbally assaulting me for summarizing his well written and very informative article. If you are interested in more of his writing (and you should be) here is a link to his blog at Rolling Stone online. Check it out, you will learn something (hopefully). Having said that, it is my intent to now divide my blog by 2. One day, even 3. My problem is there are 2 things that essentially take up my free time, music and pop culture. However, since I became old enough to vote, hell, old enough to realize this shit affects ME, I have been more interested in politics and sociology. So I will be creating a new blog for music.

This blog was originally created for music/personal use, to get shit, out so to speak. As I am not a talker and have bad social anxiety, this was my release. However it has been dominated by politics and history as of late, and throwing in a casual musical/personal reference just seems to mess with the flow. So after today you will see more articles about politics, sociology, history, and life in general and how it affects us. I have mapped out a few ideas for upcoming changes, and here is a short list of what I have been pondering:

1 - A weekly essay on a historical fact that you SHOULD know about.
2 - A weekly segment titled "Red-Handed Republican"
3 - A daily/bi-daily link for information that I found interesting or useful.

These are a few ideas I have tossed around and are currently working out the format for. My goal is to get a large audience of people to learn something they may not have known. If you don't agree with what I say, tell me. If you do agree, tell me. As long as we at least explore the idea that there CAN be a better way, that things CAN be better, and we talk about it, one day we will figure out the answer. Agree, disagree, don't give a shit, just HAVE AN OPINION.

Anyways, once I get it all sorted out and get some research done, that will take effect. I plan to have the new format up and running by early summer at the latest. Talk to you soon.

In The Zone

Music of Choice
Radiohead - High and Dry

The "friend zone" is the lowest level of Hell. There is no greater suffering than knowing that this person, this man or woman that haunts your dreams and dominates your thoughts, will never be yours. The problem with all of this, and here is where it gets tricky, is that there is no justifiable reason for it. It is like Fear, it exists solely because we create it in our minds. We use it as an excuse, a justifiable reason to not do something, to let opportunities slip past us, to not take a chance. If we could only remove the fear, open our minds to the thought of "why can't it be?" we would discover that there is no answer. We simply accept fear as fact.

Let's pretend for a second there is this person. This person you spend a lot of time with, go on "dates" 2 or 3 times a week with, say "I love you" out of habit and not thinking it is weird to say that, and essentially you just love to be around. Now this person feels the same. Well, if you are not good looking, not as successful as this person, nor share the same group of friends, welcome to the friend zone. This applies to both males and females alike. They love you, but are not in love with you. They don't know why. The only answer we ever get is "we're just too good of friends". Well fuck that. That is not an answer, that is an excuse. Friends make the best lovers, and anybody in a relationship became a friend before they became a lover.

Welcome to my life. This is my hell. I cannot escape it, nor change it. I am destined to suffer in the "friend zone" for the rest of my life. But you don't have too. Anybody out there who knows what I am talking about, go to that person, ask them flat out for an answer. Don't worry, you won't get one. Just the usual lines of bullshit that you are accustomed to. Fuck love.
